My husband and I have been slowly remodeling & reorganizing our home. We have been careful with our purchases, so as to have quality products without breaking the bank. A few months ago I purchased a 16 pair shoe organizer by Canopy at Walmart. I am amazed at the quality and love the two tone color of the canvas; neutral with dark specks. This organizer is also incredibly sturdy. Don't be fooled by the simple look of it. It fits together so tightly that it took me 20 minutes of starting and stopping just to get enough strength to finish the last section on it. I ended up having to stand on part of it and yank and yank to get the bar & final screw lined up. I almost gave up. A high windstorm would have a problem ripping this thing apart. Having someone extra strong put the last part together may be necessary. My recommendation to make it easier if you have to do it yourself and you find the canvas to be small is to get a spray bottle and water down the canvas and try to stretch it a bit.
Now, let's get down to the best part. This sucker claims to hold 16 shoes, which is an understatement for my size 7.5/8 shoes. I was able to put 2 pairs of loafers into one cubby, and a large pair of mid calf boots into its own cubby. The high heels that I put in it have enough room to stand up, which is also pretty cool. So, basically if I had 16 pairs of loafers and 8 pairs of high heels, it would all fit into the organizer. The pockets are so large that a mans shoes will easily fit in the pockets.
What I love about canvas is that it is somewhat flexible. If you get a metal rack, you can obviously fit large and small shoes on/in it, but if you get wood you are stuck with the size of the pockets and cannot easily force your larger shoes in. With canvas you can stuff and stretch the pocket, if necessary.
Walmart has a hard time keeping this in stock online, so be sure to check the availability of your local store, it's a great Shoe Organizer. I paid $24.99 for it. Walmart Link for the Canopy shoe organizer.
Next week I will blog about some clear shoe organizers that I purchased from Kohl's.
Happy Organizing,
